              MINUTES OF CHUN BOARD OF DELEGATES MEETING...NOVEMBER 19, 1981

President Marcia Hughes convened the meeting at 7:4-Opm. Among those
introduced were Chuck Michaels, new Delegate from the Cheesman Chums
and Nancy McKenna, new Delegate from Neighborhoods.
OFFICERS' REPORTS:  Membership Vice-President Mary Cook gave an
update on membership activities and moved CHUN spend $^0 to gain a
business reply permit for promotional materials mail-back.  The
motion passed.  Treasurer Liz Crawford gave a budget report and advised
the Board of the need for proper authorization for CHUN to purchase
money market certificates. Dan Paulien's motion which passed stated:
Be it resolved that Marcia Hughes, President and Elizabeth Crawford,
Treasurer of this corporation be authorized to give notice, instructions,
complete necessary forms, execute telephone exchanges, complete and
transact any other business necessary for this corporation on funds
invested in Financial Daily Income Shares, Inc.
Marcia reported that Landex Corp. (which demolished the Cheesman Park
houses and gave us the right to sell off furnishings) would give us
$3500 to cover any outstanding claims against CHUN.  Any funds not used
for that could be used as CHUN saw fit. She also asked the Board to
adopt a procedure of having all motions at Board meetings written
down (if made in advance), or put on butcher paper by a "scribe" at
each meeting (if formulated during the meeting).  The Board agreed.
STAFF REPORTS:  Meg Nagel reported that incorporation papers for
Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods Improvement Fund, Inc. had been
okayed by the Colorado Secretary of State, making the corporation a
legal reality.  Meg is pursuing an arrangement whereby CHUN membership promotional flyers would be stuffed in grocery sacks by King
Soopers.  Copies of the newly-adopted policy by which CHUN will handle
zoning issues were distributed.  VISTA Paula Kelley reported a
planned Thanksgiving party for CHARG and new Economic Development
VISTA Kathryn Morrison was formally introduced and welcomed.
DELEGATE RESPONSIBILITIES:  After discussion of the role of neighborhood Delegates, Meredith McBurney's motion was passed.  That motion
offers a set of guidelines about neighborhood assemblies for their
consideration, with the understanding that they would adopt some set
of job descriptions and division of labor.  The tasks enumerated
included: chairing assembly meetings, serving as zoning liaison,
handling assembly meeting logistics, maintaining contact with the
office, serving as liaison the "The Urban Dweller" and "Life," keeping
up with membership, periodically hosting a CHUN general membership mtg.
PEOPLE'S FAIR:  Larry Ramsdell noted that a press release for the
search for a Fair Coordinator would be going out Dec. 1st. The Board
accepted the recommended hiring procedure (screening and interviews
by the committee - augmented by volunteers who were identified --
followed by a committee decision to be ratified by telephone polling
of the Board).
