C9 capitol hill united neighborhoods inc :ap CHUN Board of Delegates Meeting February 26, 1981 Capitol Hill Community Center Minutes The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Hughes at 7:30 pm. Board members present were Lynn Adams, Sally Barton, Jo Campbell, Chris ♦ Citron-Moore, Dene Clark, Liz Crawford, Lillian Davidson, Robert Duncan, Patsy Frannea, Mike Henry, John Hitch, Marcia Hughes, Bernie Jones, Jock McNulty, Jan Moore-Kirland, Jim Osborn, Dan Paulien, Beth Shugart-Duncan, Elizabeth Singer, Joyce Thorn, Charles Sterratt, Clarence Miller, Nancy Hauswald and Daisy Vandapool. Others attending were Barb Martens, Nancy Rettig, Steve Valicevic, Meg Nagel, Mary Cook, Leroy Miller and Rick Foster. The January 22. minutes were approved as mailed. The November minutes, which were handed out at the last meeting, were approved. Nominating Committee. Marcia Hughes recommended that the nominating committee be composed of two Board members (Dan Paulien and Liz Crawford) and three non-Board members (Dee Dukehart, Ron Yost and Mel Carter). It was moved that the Board accept the recommendation. The motion was seconded and passed. CHUN members were asked to give suggestions to the nominating committee. Annual Meeting. It has been decided to hold the annual meeting on April 23 at 7:30 pm in the Community Center. This will replace the April Board meeting. (The May Board meeting will be held may 14 to avoid conflicting with the People's Fair preparations.) Joyce Thorn, coordinator for the annual meeting, asked for volunteers to assist her in planning. Clarence Miller and Liz Crawford will assist. It is hoped that an annual report can be published to hand out at the annual meeting. A sponsor would have to be found to cover printing costs. Joyce is looking at a parks program put together by Cathy Reynolds as a possible part of the meeting. Membership. Jan Moore-Kirkland reported a successful phonathon. 121 members were reached out of over 200 phone calls made. Only two of these were not planning to renew. Phase 2 of the membership drive is focused around a "each one get one" program. A flyer is available for presentb CHUN members to give or send to prospective new members. A prize will be given to the top five recruiters. The top recruiter will be given a dinner for two at a Capitol Hill restaurant. Members recruiting five or more new members will get free admission to the fundraiser. Flyer6 are available at the CHUN office or at the Neighborhood Assembly meetings. Treasurer. Jock McNulty reported expenditures totaled $1,009.57 since the last report. We have received $1,^87.00 in membership renewals. The total cash on hand as of February 26, 1981 is $3,971.00. CHARG. Barb Martens announced that Clerance Miller will be the new CHARG representative to the CHUN Board. CHARG had a party during the past month. They are working on putting together a revolving CHARG Board.
