CHUN Board of Delegates Meeting

^ Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Hughes at
7:30 pm. Board members attending were Lynn Adams, Sally Barton,
Chris Citron-Moore, Dene Clark, Lillian Davidson, Robert Duncan,
Mike Henry, John Hitch, Sarah Hite, Bernie Jones, Tobi Kanter,
Meredith McBurney, Jan Moore-Kirland, Dan Paulien, Joyce Thorn,
Larry Ramsdell, Charles Sterret. Others attending were Nancy Rettig,
Barb Martens, Steve Valicevic, Meg Nagel, Morey Berkowitz.
Lillian Davidson, new delegate from Unsinkable Neighbors (Neighborhood 4) was introduced. We were encouraged to call Meg with 10
names of potential CHUN members.
Membership. Jan Moore-Kirkland reported on her meeting. The
membership campaign will begin in January. There will be a membership
phone-a-thon the evening of February 3 at Mountain Bell. Neighborhood
Assembly meetings should be scheduled mid-February. Janet moved we
allocate $200 - $300 for a new membership brochure. The motion was
seconded and passed. She would like a new logo or design for the broc
brochure.
Treasurer's Report. Marcia reported for Jock McNulty. There is
approximately $6200 in the checking account. There was essentially
no profit from the H^use Tour. Sandy Weston has talked to Zach's
Restaurant. They are willing to give CHUN a Sunday fundraiser. CHUN
would split the bar profit and get the cover charge money. Nancy
Hauswald might be willing to be in charge. The Membership and
Executive Committees will authorize a date for the fundraising event.
Nancy Rettig, Dene Clark, Larry Ramsdell, Joyce Thorn, Robert
Duncan will assist with the fundraiser plans.
There will be a fundraising brainstorming session for CHUN
January 8 at 7s30 pm at Marcia Hughes'.
Staff Report. Meg Nagel reported that CHUN has received $300
from Robert's Floor Coverings for newsletter expenses. She is
diligently working to obtain further funding. She is also working
on the Transportation & Environment Committee. Leroy Miller is
working on this endeavor. Pedestrian safety will be emphasized.
There will be another meeting on the 16th. The Housing Committee
will be meeting in January. The Social Services Committee has gotten
an application to be a volunteer to help coordinate the Buddy System
program. Obtaining CHUN 501(c)(3) tax status will be worked on
soon. Ann Albrecht is involved with CHUN's volunteer program with
office details. CHUN will be moving to its new upstairs office on
Sunday, January 4 at 2:00. We were encouraged to help. There is
a need for more office furniture, including a clothes rack. Bernie
Jones volunteered a desk and a chair.
