CHUN Board of Delegates Meeting St. Barnabas, 1280 Vine July 24, 1980 The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Hughes at 7:40 p.m. The minutes of June 12 were approved as mailed. Board members present were Lynn Adams, Jo Campbell, Dene Clark, Elizabeth Crawford, Patsy Frannea, Michael Henry, Jim Hill, Joanne Hill, John Hitch, Sarah Hite, D.J. Inman, Bernie Jones, Tobi Kanter, Larry Levi, Jock McNulty, Jan Moore-Kirkland, Jim Osborn, Dan Paulien, Elizabeth Singer, Bill and Joyce Thorn, Sandy Weston. Others in attendance were Nancy Rettig, Louella Williams, Max Van Patten, Barb Martens, Larry Ramsdell, Morrie Berkowitz, Jim Trites, Jennifer Macy, Dee Dukehart, Ann Albrecht, Bill Pace. Membership. Jan Moore-Kirkland reported that there are 495 paid CHUN members. Treasure. Jock McNulty circulated the CHUN Financial Statement. The balance in the CHUN checking account 5-21-80 was $1918.32. Receipts totaled $5*4-8.90. Expenditures totaled $2197.81. Balance 7-24-80 totaled $269.41. The balance in CHUN Savings account excluding seed money for 1981 People's Fair - $9698.11. Balance in People's Fair Account - $7$688.06; with Total Cash-on-Hand - $17,655.58. Jock said that approximately $2600 in People's Fair expenses are not reflected in this financial statement. General Meetings. Sandy Weston reported that hotdogs and polish sausages are still available for purchase which are left from the People's Fair. Tentative dates for General Meetings for the year are as follows: August 7$ October 23, December 18, February 19t and April 23. Staff Report. Nancy Rettig said that August 6 is the deadline for the CHUN newsletter. Ann Albrecht is assisting in this endeavor. Nancy has a list of people with an expressed interest in serving on a CHUN committee. Regular CHUN office hours are Tuesday - Thursday - 9:00 am. - 12:30 pm. The House Tour is planned for September 28. There will be a House Tour meeting July 29 at 6:00 pm. at Third and Race. People's Fair. Nancy Rettig reported that all bills are in. There will be a complete financial report next meeting. VISTA. Barb Martins reported on the first activity of the mentally and chronically ill of Capitol Hill. A small group demonstrated in front of the HEW meeting held today. Channel 2 will have a program on the problem, Friday, July 25, at 7*00 pm. She said that the mentally ill are facing numerous cuts in funding at the local, state, and national level. There are 4000 people in the CHUN neighborhood who are deinstitutionalized who desperately need services that are facing appropriation cuts. Part of her efforts presently are to draw attention to these facts. CHUN's 1981 Budget. The proposed resolution from the Ad Hoc Committee on CHUN Staff and Budget (which was included on the July 24 agenda), was discussed. It provides that there be a CHUN priority setting process each year and that all funds from CHUN activities be administered by the treasurer. At the next General Meeting the priorities will be addressed. The budget and other CHUN activities will then reflect the priorities. Much of the discussion centered on People's Fair money being incorporated in CHUN's budget. Bernie Jones moved we accept the proposed resolution with the following amendments: that the third resolution read "That all funds generated
