The meeting was called to order by President Dan Paulien at 7:30 p.m.

The minutes of the April 19 meeting were approved as mailed.
Dan read the responses from Denver School Board members Ginny Rockwell
and Kay Schomp to the letter he sent to the Board of Education regarding
the final school closings decision.
Groundbreaking for the renovation of the 'Capitol Hill Community Center
will be at 11:00 a.m. June 4. Dan urged our attendance. The dedication of Cathedral Square North across from St. John's Episcopal
Cathedral will be at 10:15 a.m. on June 10. CHUN donated money to
purchase trees.
Dan and Marcia Hughes reported on Citizen's Visitation Day, Department
of Welfare, City and County of Denver.
Civic Center East. Cass Dickerson announced the first project of this
group of businessmen on East Colfax. They plan to beautify East Colfax from Pennsylvania to Ogden by planting flower boxes, etc. This
will be accomplished mostly by volunteers the end of June.
Communi cations. Ken Freed said more public relations needs to be
included with the job of Communications Vice President.
Treasurer's Report. Dene Clark reported a balance in CHUN's checking
account 4-17-79 of $2208.19. Receipts totaled $914.60, excluding
receipts from the People's Fair. Expenditures totaled $207.42, leaving
a balance as of 5-14-79 of $2915.37. Balance in People's Fair checking
account 4-18-79 was $1911.22. Receipts totaled $24,188.15, expenditures
$12,406.22. Total balance 5-20-79, including Savings Account balance,
is $15,349.43.
We have requested a two month extension in filing CHUN's income tax
for 1976-78. The accountant's fee will be approximately $200.
People's Fair. Nancy Rettig, Coordinator, thanked all who helped.
The Fair was a big success. It appears that the profit will be around
$11,000 and CHUN should make between $1000 - $1200. A picnic for
volunteers is planned Sunday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the park near the
Capitol Hill Community Center. There will be a full People's Fair
report next month. Near the end of June the Select Committee comprised of 5 CHUN members and 5 members from the People's Fair Committee will begin planning for the distribution of Fair profits to neighborhood organizations. The following people will be CHUN's members
