FROM A CHINESE TEMPLE
In the far-off land of Mandarins,
Where the cherry "blossoms grow;
In a quaint old Buddhist tempi a
Gray-robed priests pace to and fro.
As the sun in all its glory
Sinks behind a purple cloud,
From the temple*s oarven doorway
Forth a bell peals, clear and loud;
And the priests with solemn chanting,
Bearing incense rare and sweet,
Mupai'ring, tf0m manipadme hum, "
Lay their gifts at Buddha's feet*
